Pregnant woman rushed from Foggia to Genoa with an Air Force Falcon

In the afternoon today, a woman in the eighth month of pregnancy was rushed from Foggia to Genoa with a Falcon 50 of the Italian Air Force. 

The woman was admitted to the University Hospital "Ospedali Riuniti" of Foggia and following the worsening of the child's health conditions in the womb, the immediate emergency transport was requested by the Prefecture of Foggia at the Gaslini Children's Hospital of Genoa.

Once the request was received from the Prefecture of Foggia, the Top Situation Room of the Air Force Air Force Command immediately authorized the launch of a Falcon 50 of Ciampino's 31 ° Stormo to carry out the transport of the woman.

The aircraft, currently deployed on the military airport of Pratica di Mare for remaking the runway of the Roman airport, took off in the early afternoon with destination the military airport of Amendola where, once landed, embarked the patient and took off at a time of Genova.

Landed in Genoa, the patient was promptly transferred to the Gaslini by ambulance for the necessary treatment.

The aircraft of the 31 ° Stormo of Ciampino are used for state transport and for public utility missions, such as emergency medical transport of patients, traumatized persons and organs for transplants, as well as for interventions in favor of people in any case risk situations. This service is performed throughout the national territory, including the islands. The medical transport activity, given the imminent danger of life of the transported people, imposes a level of readiness twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year.
