The second phase of the 28 "X-RUNNING TENT", called "Prancing Horse", a national exercise of the Italian Air Force, organized by the XNAXX ° Stormo of Grazzanise (CE), ended on Wednesday 9 February 1ª Air Brigade Special Operations (BAOS), commanded by the general of air division Gianpaolo Miniscalco. The Casertana air base, commanded by Colonel Pasquale Di Palma, as well as providing HH212 assets of the 21 Group and Air Riflemen, has been the "Host Base" for this "2ª SOF Integration Week", ensuring logistical support and operating technician at the exercise.
The primary purpose of the training activity was to consolidate the integration capabilities acquired by the assets of the sector Special Operations of the Air Force, belonging to the 1ª BAOS To this is added the goal of raising the level of training of personnel in the field of Operational Logistics so that the best overall results can be achieved in terms of timeliness, efficiency and effectiveness of intervention, for all the operations in which the Armed Force can be called to intervene, both in Italy and in military operations abroad. The training activity, carried out in its executive part from 12 to 28 February, was divided into three phases: a first phase of "Pre-deployment" from 12 to 16 February during which all the activities related to the predispositions were carried out and technical-logistic activities; followed by a second phase called "Livex" from 19 to 23 February, during which the real execution of the scenarios took place with the use of the assets and personnel in flight and ground missions, both day and night. Finally, the "Re-deployment" phase from the 26 to the 28 February during which the actions to restore the exercise areas for their normal use were carried out.
The Aeronautica Militare has made available operational assets for both the aircraft (two HH212 ICO, one HH-101) that have carried out 13 sorties, both terrestrial (Incursori, STOS operators, Air Riflemen and dog operators) of the 1ª BAOS of Cervia, of the 3 °, 9 °, 15 °, 16 ° and 17 ° Stormo and of the Centro Cinofili dell'Aeronautica Militare.
