Aeronautica Militare: humanitarian transport from Alghero to Ciampino

Today a Falcon 900 of the 31st Wing of the Air Force carried out a humanitarian transport from Alghero airport to Ciampino airport, in favor of a woman hospitalized at the Alivesi hospital in Ittiri (SS).

The patient, once landed at the Roman airport, was transferred to the “Santa Lucia” hospital in Rome, where adequate medical care will be provided.

The request for support was received by the prefecture of Sassari at Summit Situation Room of the Command of the Air Squad, the operational room of the Air Force which has among its tasks that of organizing and managing - in coordination with prefectures, hospitals and presidency of the council of ministers - this kind of transport throughout the national territory, including islands .

Crews and transport aircraft of the Italian Air Force are ready day and night to ensure, where required and deemed necessary for urgent reasons, the medical transport of people in imminent danger of life.

Thousands are flown every year by the 31 ° Stormo aircraft of Ciampino, by the 14 ° Stormo of Pratica di Mare and by the 46 ^ Pisa air brigade, always on the front line in case of emergency.

Experience, professionalism and training: teamwork to save a human life, a service that is carried out throughout the national territory, including islands, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The aircraft of the 31 ° Stormo of Ciampino are used for state transport and for public utility missions, such as emergency medical transport of the sick, severely traumatized and transplant organs, as well as for interventions in favor of people in any case in risk situations.

In the year just ended 2016 missions have been over 220, more than 700 flight hours to transport patients in difficulty, people in imminent danger of life or organs for transplants.
