On Wednesday 1 February, two airplanes and crews of the 31 ° Stormo di Ciampino took off to help two patients in imminent danger of life, one in Puglia, the other in Calabria.

In the morning, the first Falcon went to Lamezia Terme where a 20-year-old girl suffering from a rare disease was boarded using theambulift of the Calabrian airport to be then transported to Milan Linate. Waiting for the young patient, her family and the medical team, an ambulance from the "Buzzi" hospital, the final location planned for hospitalization and subsequent cores.

While the plane of the 31 ° Stormo arrived in Milan, a second aircraft was removed from Ciampino to go to Lecce to pick up another young patient who needed to be admitted to Trieste. Despite the difficult weather conditions characterized by low visibility and persistent rain the mission was successfully completed.

Both flights had previously been coordinated by the competent prefectures of Cosenza and Lecce at the request of the hospitals where the two patients had been hospitalized and, following approval by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, passed as executive missions from Summit Situation Room of the Italian Air Force.
