Flight Safety Seminar at 46 ^ BA

17/04/15

Spread and reinforce a correct culture of Flight Safety. This is the central theme and purpose of the Flight Safety Seminar which was held on Friday 10 April at the 46 ^ Pisa Air Brigade.

The Aeronautica Militare and the Aeroclub d'Italia have in fact signed an agreement in the field of flight safety that includes several appointments - the one in Pisa was the third - in a structured program that will involve the entire peninsula.

The initiative intends to involve pilots and operators of general aviation, pleasure and sports flying (VDS) and enthusiasts who carry out their flying activities at airports, airfields and airfields in the vicinity of military airports.

The meeting in Pisa, in particular, saw, for the first time ever, the presence of a large participation of the realities operating in the world of Remotely Piloted Aircraft, increasingly present in our skies.

The commander of the 46th air brigade, the air brigadier general Roberto Boi, starting the works, which saw the participation of over 130 people, underlined the importance of a widespread and shared "SV Culture", also through the comparison between different realities and between different operators in the flight sector.

Among the speakers, prof. Buonsanti, from the Aeroclub of Italy, which has traced the history of flight and the search for safety since its inception, and then dwells on "Methodologies and experiences for safety", with references to the Safety Management System and the Operational Risk Management.

Major Filippo Conti, of the SV Inspectorate of the Air Force, illustrated the methodologies and the most advanced concepts of "Just Culture" currently in use at the Armed Force, and how these principles can easily be transposed into the realities of pleasure flying, at every level. Representing ENAC, Eng. Greta Li Calzi, on the other hand, illustrated the Occurrency Reporting and the innovations that will soon be introduced in this area in the world of general aviation.

This was followed by interventions by officers of the 46th Air Brigade who focused on more purely technical aspects, such as the figure and activity of the SV Officer, the characteristics of the airspace adjacent to the Pisa airport as well as the peculiarities of the new circular SAPR (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems) published by ENAC and the implications that the latter has on civil and military air traffic, as well as the best techniques for preventing and avoiding traffic conflicts with other aircraft.
