At the Centro Alti Studi per La Difesa the 2017 calendar of the Italian Air Force, entitled "Aeronautica 4.0", was presented in the presence of Defense Minister Roberta Pinotti. A title chosen not by chance, as emphasized by the chief of staff of the Air Force, general of the aerial team Enzo Vecciarelli: "4.0 means projecting into the future, towards the cybernetic industry".

A calendar aimed at technological innovations that the Italian air force is experiencing, with the focus of all the possibility of having the information in real time on every portion of Italian territory, and not only. Because as was pointed out both by Vecciarelli and by the other guests who took part, namely Luciano Bozzo and Gregory Alegi, it is essential to have access to all possible information in order to operate in total safety, even in the most difficult theaters. In this regard the use of the new entry F-35 is exemplary, which also earns a page of the calendar. The gen. Vecciarelli commented saying: "This aircraft represents the greatest innovation in the military world, because it allows you to work at high altitudes obtaining even better results". But if the sources of information are many, the "brain", or the operational bases, must be ready to analyze all the data available and communicate them to the forces in the field or those in flight.

Just the flocks must return to the center of all the military life of the Air Force, being the place where everyone works together, as a single body. Flocks that will be useful for Vecciarelli also by virtue of the White Paper presented by Minister Pinotti, which provides for the reduction of the workforce from 44 thousand units to 34 thousand. "A process for which it takes time, but we have moved to work towards the full operation of the Storms and, above all, towards a job Interforze"Said the Chief of Staff of the Air Force.

The Interforze which is the other cornerstone of this 4.0 Air Force, because it will be important to improve the operability of the Italian armed forces to collaborate and make available means and information. A wish to which is also added the voice of the Chief of Defense Staff, Army Corps General Claudio Graziano who said: "The future development of the armed forces depends on the collaboration and contribution that comes from every military".

The conclusion was due to Minister Pinotti, who wanted to close by thanking the Air Force for having invited her and hoping that: "Continue to demonstrate the unity of our armed forces".
