On Monday 5 September, 34 boys and 11 girls were incorporated at the “Douhet” School in Florence, all between the 15 and the 16 years, winners of a public competition to join the high school and high school of the School Military Aeronautics.
During the day the new students, followed by the School staff and the "Chosen" students of the 3 ° year, completed the classic incorporation practices while their family members met the Douhet School commander, Colonel Michele Buccolo, who illustrated their organization and educational-educational goals of the Institute, focusing attention on the support needed by families and on the principles of meritocracy, healthy competition and mutual respect that characterize the training process undertaken by the newly incorporated.
The emotion, both for the boys and for their parents, was felt particularly at the end of the day when, having completed the incorporation practices, the new students presented themselves in uniform for the final greeting to the families.
The 45 young students entered today to be part of the blue family after winning a particularly selective public competition, held between April and June last year, which counted about 800 requests for participation, a number that is constantly increasing every year.
With these new entries, the "Giulio Douhet" School currently has 132 students, of which 38 are female, from all regions of Italy.
