MART 2015 Tutorial at 3 ° Stormo

27/07/15

From 13 to 17, the Multinational Aircraft Recovery Training 3 (MART 2015) multinational exercise was held for the first time at 2015 ° Stormo di Villafranca di Verona (VR), with the participation of more than 50 units from six European countries Italy, France, Germany, England, Spain and Holland.

The ultimate goal of the tutorial was to create a cohesive and operational team specializing in Aircraft Recovery.

The first training event took place in 2012 at the Orleans air base (FR), and then repeated in 2014 at the “Defense Fire Training and Development Center (DFTDC)” in Manston (UK). The "Joint Aircraft Recovery & Transportation Squadron (JARTS)", a RAF group that boasts the most extensive experience in Europe, also collaborated in the recovery activities, conducted under the aegis of the "European Air Transport Command (EATC)". expertise in the sector. Sharing experiences, intervention procedures and aircraft recovery capacity were the fundamental objectives of this important exercise, which induces the participating nations to develop a common approach, increasingly facilitating the spread of a multinational mentality.

In detail, during the MART 2015 three Recovery Teams of mixed nationality were set up, supported by two Command and Control Centers (C2) of the AM and the EATC. The teams operated by simulating crash scenarios through the use of HH-212, G-222, Tornado and AMX vectors and specific "Air Ground Equipment (AGE)" dedicated to recovery activities. The exercise, as well as acting as a moment to share technical and operational experiences, also represented an opportunity for the staff training flock to the use of assets and technologies in situations of discomfort and repercussions in the field of activities related to the development of the "Air Expeditionary Task Force - Combat Service Support (AETF - CSS)" program.

The integration and cooperation developed in the training phase as well as in scenarios operated there will increasingly be essential elements to ensure the success of future missions, both national and multinational. It is in this context that the 3 ° Stormo operates, whose activity is aimed at guaranteeing the interoperability and promptness of use of the advanced logistic components of the Armed Force. The Stormo ensures the projection of airport logistics capabilities and promotes initiatives in both the operational and operational, for the development of new synergies and forms of sharing of know-how among the Air Forces of European countries.
