Italian citizen urgently transported from Tirana to Rome by Air Force aircraft

An aircraft this afternoon F of the Italian Air Force transported from Tirana (Albania) to Ciampino (Rome) an Italian citizen of 60 years suffering from a serious cardiovascular pathology for the subsequent admission to the San Camillo hospital in Rome.

The complex and delicate operation was possible thanks to the work of all the institutions involved, whose coordination was ensured by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The emergency medical transport, in fact, as foreseen by the existing procedures for these cases, was requested by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers at Summit Situation Room of the Air Force, which is the referent of the Ministry of Defense for these activities to safeguard the community. In turn, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers he had received the request for intervention from the Italian embassy in Tirana. 

The aircraft, belonging to the 31 ° Stormo of Ciampino, took off from its base at 16: 10 with a medical team from the San Camillo hospital on board. After having taken the patient from Tirana airport, at 17 hours: 50 around the plane left for Ciampino, where it landed around 19: 00. Subsequently the patient was transported by ambulance to the Roman hospital.
