Chief of the Finnish Defense Staff at Cameri

On Thursday 03 March at Cameri Military Airport, a visit was made by General Jarmo Lindberg, Chief of Defense Staff and commander of the Finnish Defense Forces accompanied by Division Admiral Vejijo Taipalus, Chief of Staff of the Finnish Navy .

The meeting took place within the framework of the international cooperation program between the two nations and the delegation was received, in Cameri, by Brigadier General Maurizio Nastasi, head of the Aerotactic Aircraft Multipurpose Center.

After attending the introductory briefing on the reality of the Multi-Purpose Aerotactic Aircraft Center, the delegation visited the "Final Assembly and Check Out" (FACO) for the assembly of the F35 aircraft /Joint Strike Fighter (JSF). The visit focused on the production lines of the F35 aircraft, for the assembly of "full wings" and on the room intended for painting the aircraft.

Subsequently, the delegation visited the main hangar of the 1st Aircraft Maintenance Department where the activities of the Department, technical-engineering and logistic center ("MRO & U" - Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul & Upgrade) for third technical level activities were illustrated on aircraft Tornado ed Euro Fighter.

In signing the honor roll, the Finnish Chief of Staff wanted to express words of thanks for the reception received and for the results achieved by Ce.Po.VA and FACO

The Multi-Purpose Aerotactic Aircraft Center (Ce.Po.VA) was established on the Cameri airport ground on 23 July 2012 and employed by the 2 ^ Logistic Command Division AM The 1 ° Aircraft Maintenance Department depends on Ce.Po.VA , the Cameri Airport Command and the Initial Training Unit (NIF) for the program Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) F-35. The Ce.Po.VA, with its employees, represents the main engineering-maintenance and logistic center of the Italian Air Force for high-speed "fast jet" aircraft.
