E. Cantarano and L. Carini: History of Medicine and Assistance for Health Professions

L. Carini Ed. UniversItalia Pages 240 The essay I have just finished reading is a university text written by two professors for university students.

Sometimes these essays are too heavy to read but not in this case.

The authors, Enzo Cantarano and Luisa Carini, manage to engage the reader with a clean and exciting style. The History of Medicine and Assistance for Health Professions introduces us to a world of discoveries that has accompanied human history for millennia. Fear, illness and death and the methods of removing them from our lives accompany the reader in the analysis of past civilizations, up to the present day.

The versatility of the authors means that every page is informative but at the same time full of curiosities that drag the reader as in a book of adventures to always go further and start their own personal search path.

"To assist, from the Latin ad-stare, to stand beside ..." so must be the assistance!

The history of medicine and care is closely linked to particular historical moments.

Destructive events such as famines, wars and plagues (ancient and modern) were in fact decisive for medical development and discovery. So alongside the history of medicine, the history of human societies is retraced in stages to analyze our society from a particular point of view.

An interesting text that stands as a guide in the study and in-depth study of the history of medicine and of assistance for the health professions.

It is then up to each of us to deepen according to our tastes and interests.

Happy reading.
