A brief history of Sardinia is not a manual cold, it is a journey through the history of the island that allows us to learn about origins and events that are almost unknown.
In fact, reading the text made me reflect on how little is taught about our island already in school books. Italian history looks like a sequence of events that took place on the peninsula and Sicily, off the coast of an arid rock. Well that "rock" is and has been anything but arid.
The unquestionable merit of Alessandro Rugolo is to begin to fill a void by understanding how much there is to discover in a land that is coming - but I would like to see! - appreciated by those who land there mainly for the wonderful beaches and waters that surround it.
The author, Sardinian, reveals an innate curiosity that, combined with a historical competence of absolute importance and a deep love for his land, makes the book an excellent starting point for a new discovery of Sardinia that every reader should do.
After reading, at the first opportunity, one can not but be tempted to dedicate a day to the exploration of something unknown and certainly unexpected, the other Sardinia.
