15/07/2015 - This is the theme developed during a joint training developed in the Adriatic Sea between the operational detachments of the Incursori Operational Group, GOI, and two platoons of 'Combat Support' of the first regiment of the Marina San Marco Brigade.

An exercise, called 'Goldfinger', to maintain and increase the operational collaboration between the two Departments developing Techniques, Tactics and Joint Procedures in environments Maritime.

The role played by the platoons of the 'Combat Support' is 'Follow on Force', that is, of conventional forces that, as a result of Special Forces actions, guarantee an adequate tactical support to the performance of particular Operations.

The activity was carried out on board some oil platforms present in the area of ​​operations owned by ENI.

Thanks to this training activity, and to the collaboration with the GOI operative detachments, it was possible to guarantee the achievement of full operational capacity for the second Combat Support platoon, in addition to maintaining the one already acquired by the first platoon.
