Sunday - In Genoa the Committee of Genoese ladies offers the fighting flag to the armored cruiser Giuseppe Garibaldi in the hands of the captain captain of vessel Cesare Agnelli.

On that occasion, the said Committee also makes a gift of a white silk banner on which the Marquise Eleonora Pallavicini had made to embroider the Prayer of the Sailor written on purpose (under another title) for the Garibaldi by professor Antonio Fogazzaro.

The commander in March will ask and obtain from the Minister Morin the authorization to recite it at sunset while sailing in front of the crew deployed aft on the occasion of the amine flag.

Since then, the custom has spread to all the ships of the Navy, becoming part of the Italian naval tradition.
