16/07/2015 - Yesterday, a delegation from the Task Force Air (TFA) visited the orphanage in the city of Šiauliai, which hosts around 30 newborns and numerous children between 1 and 8 years.

The visit was made on the occasion of the delivery of a huge load of humanitarian effects arrived in Lithuania with a C130 aircraft of the 46 ^ Air Brigade.

General Roberto Boi, commander of the Brigade, personally wanted to deliver the goods to the TFA saying he was honored by such a significant transport for the community of small guests of the family home of Šiauliai.

The Task Group Commander of the Italian TFA, in its meeting with the director of the orphanage, highlighted the importance of these activities in favor of the local community: "the Task Force Air staff has ideally adopted every guest child of this wonderful institution, for us it is important to be able to offer the maximum effort to make children smile, but it is equally important to support those who dedicate their lives to take care of them and grow them. to guarantee them a better future".

The director of the orphanage, Dr. Audronè Kardašienè, thanked the staff of the TFA because "You Italians take care of us with gestures of all kinds and even the smallest for us has immense value. Thanks also to all the Italians who wanted, from far away, to give a thought of closeness and affection. All this increases that feeling of mutual esteem and appreciation".

During the visit, clothes, shoes and toys were selected, selected by the families of the Italian staff, who had been taken over and brought to Lithuania.

The TFA staff in Šiauliai is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the airspace over the skies of Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia through the rapid activation of a pair of interceptor aircraft in order to reach and identify one or more unknown aircraft that they violate the Alliance's skies and guarantee their security.
