06/03/2015 - The commander of the Kosovo Force (KFOR), Major General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, yesterday met Pogdorica political and military authorities of Montenegro.

General Son and Minister of Interior Rasko Konjevic discussed the current socio-political situation and the state of security in Kosovo.

In addition to highlighting the excellent relationship with the Kosovo Force, the cooperation between the Montenegrin and Kosovo authorities in the management of the control of common border areas was highlighted in the meeting, mainly to deal with organized crime.

Such collaboration will also be implemented through the establishment of bilateral technical-political tables.

Subsequently, General Figliuolo met Montenegrin Defense Summits: Minister Milica Pejanovic Djurisic and Chief of Staff Major Admiral Dragan Samardzic.

During the meeting the high Montenegrin representatives expressed their appreciation for the stabilizing role of KFOR in the Balkan area and called for a further strengthening of the existing cooperation through the entry of Montenegro into the Atlantic Alliance, following the achievement of the parameters required for membership in NATO.

The visit ended with an interview with the Italian ambassador in Montenegro, His Excellency Vincenzo Del Monaco. During the meeting the authority, in highlighting the excellent results achieved by KFOR, especially during the leadership Italian, expressed words of appreciation for the stabilization work of Kosovo and for the strategic importance that the operation plays in the entire Balkan chessboard.

The visit to Pogdorica is one of the programmed activities of the COMKFOR, as sanctioned by the Military Technical Agrimeent (MTA), also known as the Kumanovo Agreement.

General Figliuolo met, ad today, the heads of government and military of Albania, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Serbia and Montenegro, countries bordering the area of ​​responsibility of the Kosovo Force.
