With the approach of the departures for the holidays - especially for those who decided to spend them in the beautiful land in the center of the Mediterranean - I would like to point out a particular book.
Brief history of Sardinia it is not a cold manual, it is a journey through the history of the island that allows us to know origins and events that are almost unknown.
In fact, reading the text made me reflect on how little we teach of our island already in school books. Italian history seems to be a sequence of events that took place on the peninsula and Sicily, off an arid rock. Well that "rock" is and was anything but dry.
The unquestionable merit of Alessandro Rugolo is to begin to fill a void by understanding how much there is to discover in a land that is coming - but I would like to see! - appreciated by those who land there mainly for the wonderful beaches and waters that surround it.
The author, Sardinian, reveals an innate curiosity that, combined with a historical competence of absolute importance and a deep love for his land, makes the book an excellent starting point for a new discovery of Sardinia that every reader should do.
After reading, at the first opportunity, one can not but be tempted to dedicate a day to the exploration of something unknown and certainly unexpected, the other Sardinia.
