01 / 05 / 2014 - Yesterday, the Crew Space Transportation (CST-100) Crew space transport crew capsule was introduced yesterday.

"We are moving into a commercial space market and we need to consider our potential customers - beyond NASA - and their needs within a commercial spacecraft"said Chris Ferguson, former commander of the Space Shuttle Atlantis and current director of the Crew and Mission Operations for the Commercial Crew Program of Boeing.

Boeing engineers took advantage of the multi-year experience in the commercial and governmental aerospace sector to design the capsule's interior.

Rachelle Ornan, regional director for Boeing sales and marketing, explained how a family color like blue helps passengers to keep the sky's earthly vision.

The CST-100, developed as part of an integrated commercial capacity learning initiative for NASA, is designed to carry up to seven crew members or a crew and cargo mix for low-orbit destinations such as the International Space Station and a future one Bigelow station.
