17/07/2015 - Last Tuesday the military attaché for defense at the Argentine embassy in Rome, col. pil. Ulisse Ferrari, accompanied by a representative of the International Aviation Policy Office at the Air Force Staff, paid a visit to the 4 ° Stormo of Grosseto.
Colonel Ferrari had represented the need to better understand the organizational structure of a Wing, the Air Defense activity to which it is called to respond, the operational training of an interceptor pilot and the technical and maintenance characteristics of the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft. In fact, Argentina is starting an internal process of modernization of its means and weapon systems aimed at avoiding excessive technological detachment from neighboring countries; the realization of any joint projects with the AOS could constitute a decisive strategic advantage and represent, for the Air Force, an "entry key" to further collaborations throughout the Latin American region.
The commander of the 4 ° Stormo, col. pil. Enrico Pederzolli, after the welcome greetings at the base, presented a briefing general in which significant data emerged on the multiple activities that the Wing was called to perform over the years, including the significant increase in flight activity and the percentage of aircraft efficiency achieved.
The visit then continued at the 904 Aircraft Efficiency Group, the 20 ° Independent Training Group and the 9 ° Operating Group, the heart of the 4 ° Stormo.
From this visit the col. Ferrari expressed its satisfaction in witnessing the synergy between the different Groups, as well as appreciating the professionalism of all the Stormo personnel.
