Women's officers in the race for cancer research

A female representative of course attending officers at the Army Command and Training School, students of the Faculty of Strategic Sciences of the University of Turin, took part in the running race organized in the central streets of the city by the University Sports Center, in support of Piedmontese research on cancer.

The entry of women into the armed forces has represented an epochal change for the military and civil world, well inserted in the transformation of the military instrument from mixed system to professional.

The female component now represents around 7% of the Army staff and is admitted in every specialty and position as men, with the same career progression. Women and men train together from the first day of military life , they work side by side and, after 14 years since their entry into the armed force, women are fully integrated within the Army operational and logistical structures.

The command for the training and application school of the Army has the task of training the officers, who will be employed, at the end of the training process, in the armed forces departments. Currently, 32 are the women who attend the courses at the institute and one of them is of Albanian nationality.
