In recent weeks, at the "Los Lianos air base", in the province of Albacete, Spain, theAir-Centric Personnel Recovery Operational Course 2021, in which Italy took part with personnel from the 66th “Trieste” aircraft infantry regiment.

Also present were soldiers from units of the armed forces of France, Germany, Great Britain and Spain.

The APROC was divided into two phases. The first of these involved lectures conducted by instructors of theEuropean Personnel Recovery Center (EPRC), a center of excellence for the recovery procedures of military and civilians engaged in operations. In the second phase, the visitors trained in a scenario in which a multinational Task Force, which included the staff of the 66th, had the task of planning and conducting recovery activities for military and civilian personnel, even wounded, who were isolated in the area of operations, within the so-called Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) operations.

The objective of the activity was to verify and improve the level of interoperability and standardization of the assets of the various participating countries, through the study and conduct of Personnel Recovery (PR).

The APROC '21 represented an extremely significant training opportunity for the 66th "Trieste" Aircraft Infantry Regiment, as it allowed them to test and refine their skills in carrying out the missions of Personnel Recovery, even in a multinational context.
