On Wednesday evening, some soldiers of the 235th "Piceno" volunteer training regiment, attending the VFP1 basic course of the 2nd block 2014, foiled, in Ascoli, the attack on a woman.

While they were on leave, they noticed a man, in an evident state of alteration, who, armed with scissors, tried to attack a woman of foreign nationality.

Immediately and without hesitation, demonstrating courage and a keen sense of duty, they intervened and, using some techniques acquired during the course, immobilized the attacker after a brief scuffle, handing it over to the police who intervened on the same military call.

In the clash a soldier reported a very slight abrasion to one hand and a slight bruise to a forearm, without health consequences, so that the soldier, together with the other comrades involved in the event, resumed the planned training without problems.

The episode confirms the importance of the training received by the young soldiers, both from the technical-professional point of view and from the aspect of civic sense, which is a valid example to follow.
