At the "Duca" barracks, seat of the 85th volunteer training regiment (RAV) "Verona", 110 volunteers in firm prefixed of one year (VFP1) of the Italian Army, belonging to the 1st echelon of the 1st block 2021, have sworn allegiance to the Italian Republic.
At the ceremony, presided over by the commander of the Training, Specialization and Doctrine of the Army, general of the army corps Salvatore Camporeale, civil, military and religious authorities and the families of the jurands took part. In the presence of the Regimental War Flag, the volunteers took a solemn oath by pronouncing the traditional formula of "I swear" and singing in unison the Hymn of Mameli, performed by the Fanfare of the "Pozzuolo del Friuli" brigade.
The regimental commander, Colonel Federico Loi, greeted the jurands saying: "Be aware of the duties and responsibilities that this gesture entails, always be honest and loyal with your soul and always demand the maximum from your abilities."
"By swearing in the presence of the Italian flag, you have solemnly pledged to dedicate the best of yourself to Italy, to serve the country with honesty, loyalty and honor" were the words of General Camporeale, addressed to the young volunteers of the 1st block 2021.
The training of military personnel, for which the Army employs resources and highly qualified instructor personnel, allows young recruits to learn the rules governing the military organization, to achieve adequate physical preparation as well as to acquire the knowledge and skills basic and combat specific to each soldier.
The Volunteers of the 1st block 2021, in the coming days, will leave the city of Verona to reach the various units of the Armed Force, located throughout the national territory. \
