Mount Bivera is once again the protagonist in the training activities of the Alpine troops of the 7th regiment of Belluno of the Alpine Brigade Julia.

With the slow but steady return to post COVID-19 normalcy, at the end of two weeks of intense training both at team and platoon level in the conduct of offensive, defensive and stabilization tactical activities in the mountain environment, mainly held in the Tai di Cadore and the polygon of the Val d'Oten, even with overnight stay at the anchor, the Belluno black pens to conclude the training cycle led on the day of June 3, in the presence of the commander of the Alpine Troops and the commander of the Julia, a school with 81 mm medium mortars.

In the tactical context put in place, always aimed at keeping the efficiency and capabilities of the staff at the highest levels, the Army Corps General Claudio Berto was able to appreciate the commitment made by the men and women of the 7th regiment in a context mountain and particularly compartmentalized as that offered by the Carnic Alps.

The exercise also included a change of deployment of the mortars themselves, the maneuver took place thanks to the support provided by the AB 205 helicopters of the AVES (Army Aviation), which transported the mortar teams in two brackets, protected by a pair of helicopters d attack A 129 Mongoose, who simulated some CAS (Close Air Support), as well as the use of the chosen shooters who conducted various patrol and shooting activities with the weapons supplied to the department.

The activity ended with the use of direct-shooting mortars, in a speedy way that allows the units to provide immediate fire support in case of need.

More and more today, as happened in the past, the peculiarity of mountain soldiers is that of operating and training in the rough, impervious and compartmentalised terrains that only the alpine environment offers and with difficult climatic conditions.
