Discovered cemetery of stolen cars in the "Terra dei Fuochi"

31/05/14

This morning, during the patrol in the area of the municipality of Giugliano (NA), the army men found a graveyard of stolen cars.

In particular, following the reporting of a citizen, the patrol went to the Giugliano industrial area where it found, in an open countryside and away from ordinary roads, eighteen abandoned cars of which sixteen burned.

The army soldiers immediately informed the carabinieri of the Varcaturo station (NA) that, having intervened on the site and made the necessary investigations, they confirmed that all abandoned vehicles were stolen.

Land ownership investigations are underway and the local police will remove the vehicles in the coming days.

This intervention is yet another positive result obtained in the last few days in the Land of Fires. Only yesterday the army patrols contributed to the extinguishing of three fires, one in Giugliano and two in Maddaloni respectively.

Today's operation is proof of the collaboration of citizens who, in addition to expressing their satisfaction with the work carried out by the army, contribute to identifying areas of illegal spill, illegal dumping and sighting of fires.
