(To Army Majority State)
14/04/25

The Army's Alpine troops recently completed the basic ski mountaineering course and the course for training military ski slope assistants, held simultaneously in the Alta Pusteria area by the 6th Alpine Regiment of Brunico.

Of fundamental importance was the training part relating to the in-depth study of meteorological events, with particular attention to the dangers of avalanches and fundamental self-rescue techniques. The basic ski course is the first step of specialty training for members of the Alpine Troops, which provides for the most gifted students, the development of skiing skills until they obtain the qualification of "military ski and ski mountaineering instructor".

The training of military assistants on the ski slopes includes teaching techniques for transporting the injured with Toboga and Akja (a sled for transporting traumatized people on the ski slopes), as well as practical lessons in first aid, treatment of injured people with all types of trauma and BLSD (Basic Life Support - Defibrillation). The course also included a practical lesson in emergency psychology combined with communication techniques.

Finally, the attendees of both courses were given an in-depth training course under the supervision of the instructors and personnel of the Meteomont unit of the regiment, which saw the Alpine troops involved in simulating an avalanche and in applying all the procedures specific to organised rescue.
