It was held in recent days, at the NCO school of the Army, the delivery of the degrees of marshal to 128 students of the XXIII course "Honor".
The ceremony, held in front of the Institute Flag, decorated with a Bronze Medal for Army Valor and a Silver Medal for Civil Merit, saw the participation of various civil and military authorities.
Among these the mayor, Dr. Chiara Frontini, the president of the province, Dr. Alessandro Romoli, the vicar prefect, Dr. Andrea Caputo, the rector of the University of Tuscia, prof. Stefano Ubertini and the commissioner, Dr. Giancarlo Sant'Elia.
As per tradition, it was the pupils' family members who placed the rank on the epaulettes of the newly promoted marshals, testifying to the full sharing of a life choice and the emotion for achieving this goal.
The ceremony continued with the passage of the "cue" from the students of the senior course to the colleagues of the XXIV course "Fidelity", a symbolic gesture that ideally represents the transmission of traditions, values and hopes among those attending the courses that follow each other at the School.
Major General Alberto Vezzoli, commander of the NCO school of the Army, in the course of his speech he thus addressed the future platoon leaders “For a few minutes you have been wearing the insignia of your new status as an Army Marshal on your epaulettes. It is a goal that you have reached with commitment, motivation, spirit of sacrifice, stubbornness, perseverance, humility, overcoming countless obstacles that have put you to the test. Each of you knows how much it has cost him not only in terms of sacrifices, to be deployed here today. From today you will be commanders, formally the authority will be given to you by the degree you hold, but in reality the true authority, the one that will make you proud of the choice made, the one that your men and women will recognize you will have to conquer it every day, through small and large gestures and daily actions ".
The event also saw the delivery by the intervening authorities of the rank of marshal to the first-ranked students in the ranking at the end of the two-year training period, as well as some prizes to particularly deserving visitors, distinguished in university, military and activities gymnastic-sports.
This closes an important period for those attending the XXIII course, who will soon begin the specialization phase at the Schools / Weapons and Specialties Command, before assuming the command of the platoon in the operational departments throughout Italy.
