Piazza "Caduti in Afghanistan" in Verona

In the presence of Army Corps General Massimo Scala, commander of the Terrestrial Operational Support Forces, the ceremony of naming a town square after the fallen in Afghanistan took place yesterday morning in Verona.

The mayor of Verona, Avv. Federico Sboarina, the banner of the city of Verona, decorated with the Gold Medal for Military Valor, representatives of the local military and civil institutions, as well as numerous relatives of the fallen.

During the ceremony, after the unveiling of the plaque and the honors of a side in arms, a laurel wreath was laid by the municipality of Verona. The celebration ended with the reading of the prayer to the fallen and the blessing of the plaque by the military chaplain of the support COMFOTER, Don Flavio Riva.

The title of the square, located in the Santa Croce district, represents the tangible sign of the closeness of the institutions and citizens of Verona to the fallen in the mission in Afghanistan.
