Personnel of the Italian Army and the Navy, belonging to National Projection Screening Capacity (CNPM), conducted the "PERASTO 24" planning exercise, at the simulation and validation center (Ce.Si.Va.) of Civitavecchia.
The protagonists of the complex planning of an amphibious operation were the staff of the "Pozzuolo del Friuli" brigade, under the command of Brigadier General Nicola Mandolesi, and of the "San Marco" marine brigade.
With the "PERASTO 24" exercise the cavalry brigade was able to test the amphibious planning procedures, deepen the standardized operational procedures, optimize the internal organization with the integration of Navy staff elements and develop the operation plan for the upcoming "AMPHEX 24/2" exercise, which will be held in October and which will allow the large unit to obtain certification of Joint Landing Force.
The CNPM is a modern tool capable of planning and conducting amphibious operations and the joint landing force commander will be guaranteed on a biennial rotation between the Army and the Navy.
