In recent days the "Morea 1/2020" exercise was held in Gorizia, in the "Montesanto" barracks, in which the command and dependent units of the "Pozzuolo del Friuli" cavalry brigade took part.

The activity, which took place in full compliance with the COVID-19 emergency containment and contrast measures, concerned the planning decision-making process of battalion, company and platoon commanders and consisted in the conduct of an autonomous amphibious action type "shore to shore" connection.

The commander of the unit, Brigadier General Giovanni Parmiggiani, personally followed the activity, using the staff of his command, in order to evaluate, according to the orders given and the reference scenario, the correct execution of the process planning and issuing orders to units on the ground.

The "Morea 1/2020" is part of the activities aimed at increasing and maintaining the Amphibious Capabilities of the Army.

Among the departments exercised are the brigade command, the "Serenissima" lagoon regiment, the "Genova Cavalleria" regiment (4th), the 3rd sapper engineers regiment, the "Voloire" horse artillery regiment, the logistic regiment and the command department and tactical supports.
