Soldiers thwart theft in the historic center of Rome

Yesterday afternoon, around 14: 30, a military patrol belonging to the "ROME" group of the "Safe Roads" operation, alongside a state police patrol, intervened to retrieve newly stolen material from a pair of tourists inside a fast food restaurant in Piazza di Spagna in the historic center of the city.

The theft was carried out by two minors of foreign origin, the military, in collaboration with the police, identified one of the two, traced the accomplice thus recovering the stolen goods.

Since August 2008 the "Granatieri di Sardegna" brigade has participated with about a thousand units in the "Safe Roads" operation in the city of Rome in order to help support the designated authorities in the fight against crime and to ensure a safe environment for the population .
