Milan, "Safe Roads" rotation

(To Army Majority State)
20/11/20

After five months of operational use, the 1st transmission regiment of Milan, led by Colonel Pasquale Guarino, gives the command of the grouping "Lombardia and Trentino Alto Adige" to the 8th regiment of genius parachutists "Folgore" of Legnago (VR), commanded by Colonel Gianluca Dello Monaco.

Over 32.000 patrol activities conducted, covering almost 1.400.000 km across the territory; more than 9 people identified, 80 those reported, 21 arrested and 11 placed in custody, fight against drug dealing, seizure of weapons and numerous ordinary interventions to help citizens along the streets, squares, railway stations and Lombard airports: these are the numbers of the “Strade Sicure” operation during the period at the helm of the 1st Milan broadcasting regiment.

An intense patrol activity, during which almost 1000 soldiers of the Italian Army worked in collaboration with the Police to ensure the surveillance of over 80 sensitive sites, including the airports of Linate, Malpensa and Orio al Serio.

A perfect synergy with the police, an effective work appreciated by the institutions and citizens of the cities of Milan, Bergamo, Brescia, Varese, Como, the province of Monza and Brianza and the Autonomous Province of Bolzano.

Great satisfaction for the transmitters of the 1st regiment for having completed, once again, the assigned mission and for having contributed with an attentive, reassuring and positive presence, to increase the perception of a higher level of safety.
