Bad weather: Today the Army's commitment to Fiumicino ends while it continues in Veneto

With the end of the emergency in Fiumicino, from today's 19.00 the Army will withdraw almost all of its assets from the Lazio town. On the field will remain a team of the 6 ° Rome genius regiment with 2 water pump to help free some houses still invaded by water.

At Fiumicino, in the course of the emergency, starting from the evening of the 2 February, the Army's genius units employed 20000 bags on the ground, used water scooping and earthmoving machinery for a total of 1300 working hours, distributed over 1000 meals and 2800 route kilometres.

On the contrary, at least until Wednesday, the army will continue its efforts in the province of Belluno where the avalanche danger remains marked as reported by the national bulletin elaborated by the Alpine Troops Command in collaboration with the State Forestry Corps and the Weather Service of the Air Force.

The Prefect has in fact requested that the 140 men and 40 vehicles committed, from the first of February continue in their work to support the population for the restoration of roads, especially in the most isolated countries of the Upper Cadore, the removal of snow from the streets and roofs of public buildings and schools.
