The MakP100 ceremony of the students of the 235th “MOVM Raffaele Tarantini” course, who are preparing to finish their training course within the walls of the “Rosso Maniero”, took place in recent days at the “Nunziatella” Military School.

With the symbolic “passing of the cue”, the “older” students have passed on to the younger attendees the task and the burden of transmitting and enforcing the traditions that have always distinguished the history of the Institute.

At the ceremony, presided over by the commander for the Army Training, Specialization and Doctrine, Army Corps General Carlo Lamanna, accompanied by the commander of the Army Officers School, Army Corps General Antonello Vespaziani, and the commander of the Military Academy, Division General Davide Scalabrin, were attended by military and civil authorities of the Campania Region and the metropolitan city of Naples.

The most significant moment of the ceremony was the delivery of the drappella to the 236th course by the godmother, Dr. Emmanuela Spedaliere, director of the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples. Embroidered with the number and symbol of the course, the drappella will adorn the trumpet of the "Guardia d'onore" and the drum kit for the duration of the next academic year, until the following MakP100.

The commander of the School, Colonel Alberto Valent, emphasized that in the demanding training path they have learned to execute to develop the courage to decide. Now professors, officers and permanent staff expect them to continue their studies in academies and universities always showing loyalty, moral courage, self-denial and spirit of service towards the Homeland.

During the ceremony, scholarships were awarded to particularly deserving students and alumni who had achieved the best academic and military performances during the previous year.

The event will then continue in the setting of the Royal Palace in Piazza Plebiscito, with the “Ballo delle Debuttanti”, a gala evening that marks the entrance into society of girls between the ages of 16 and 19, which will see the participation of 31 couples made up of students, male and female, and debutantes from the civilian world.

The event will end with the usual “Canto dell'Addio” with which the students say goodbye and pay homage to the “Rosso Maniero” and to all those who wish to share the emotions of the day with them.
