The Undersecretary of State for Defense Mr Raffaele Volpi met yesterday at the command of the brigade in Livorno the paratroopers of the thunderbolt. The commander of the brigade thunderbolt General Rodolfo Sganga, explained to Mr Volpi the tasks, peculiarities and activities that the Great Unity of the Italian Army, thanks to its women and men both in Italy and in Operational Theaters.
La thunderbolt, in addition to maintaining the operational efficiency of its paratroopers through continuous training in international and inter-force, it is used in the National territory in the operation Safe Roads and has detachments and departments located in the main Operational Theaters in which the Italian Armed Forces are employed.
During the visit, the undersecretary expressed his appreciation and gratitude: “The undersecretaries pass, your medals and your fallen ones instead remain in history. You are the image of the country when you are on the national territory but you are even more so when you are in the operating theaters. You are Italian soldiers, proudly Italians. Your duality is historical, always close to the population in difficult times. I am sure that when you get up in the morning, you can hear the El Alamein sand crunching under your boots.
