The Army hosts the oath of the CRI

Yesterday, at 11.00 in the presence of Civil, Religious and Military Authorities, in the “Erminio Sommaruga” barracks of Catania, home of the 62 “Sicily” Infantry Regiment, official 10 and 60 among non-commissioned officers, graduates and volunteer soldiers of the Military Corps of the Cross Rossa Italiana (CRI) have sworn before the Body Flag.

The major Italian authority of the Red Cross Military Corps, the national inspector, Major General Gabriele Lupini, intervened at the important event, before which the newly enrolled expressed the firm will to serve the country by taking an oath of loyalty to the Republic.

For the first time in Sicily, an Italian Red Cross volunteer swearing-in ceremony took place inside an Italian Army barracks, thanks to the active collaboration and excellent institutional relations that existed between the 62 commander "Sicily" Infantry Regiment, Colonel Leonardo Privitera and the Commander of the XII CRI Mobilization Center, Colonel Antonino Buttafuoco.

During his speech, Major General Lupini thanked Colonel Leonardo Privitera and the armed force for the great availability and professionalism with which they were able to support the personnel of the Red Cross Military Corps, despite the 62 infantry regiment " Sicily ”in this period operationally is engaged in the Operation Safe Roads with a huge competition of men, vehicles and materials.

For years, there has been a strong collaboration between the CRI military corps and the 62 infantry regiment "Sicilia" which has allowed the implementation of military personnel training through the activation of courses such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and BLSD and, moreover, , to carry out joint exercises with the aim of refining and coordinating the procedures and intervention techniques in the event of events linked to nuclear biological-chemical attacks (NBC).
