The “Saber Junction 210” exercise, held at the Hohenfels training area in Germany, has concluded for 2024 paratroopers of the “Folgore”.
Coordinated by 173rd Airborne Brigade and inserted in the broader context of the Large Scale Global Exercises (LSGE), the exercise tested 4500 military personnel from 11 states, NATO members and partners belonging to the Airborne Community, in order to test the readiness and level of interoperability of the units deployed on the ground in the conduct of airborne operations in a scenario of warfighting.
The amaranth berets of the 187th paratrooper regiment "Folgore", supported by a forward support coy of the logistics regiment "Folgore", have deployed a tactical group command, leading a multinational Task Force, and two smaller complexes.
Over the course of a total of 20 days, the multinational exercise saw the paratroopers plan, prepare and conduct defensive and offensive tactical acts in highly realistic high-intensity combat scenarios and in a particularly challenging environment in terms of weather conditions and territorial extension.
The “Folgore” paratrooper brigade is among the tools available to the Army to ensure an immediate response capacity to crisis and emergency situations, which require the projecting, in a short time, of important devices capable of operating in all areas of confrontation.
