The Army intervenes for the bad weather emergency in Emilia Romagna

Army soldiers intervened to help the population of Emilia Romagna, seriously affected by the bad weather emergency.

Thanks to the use of pneumatic boats, helicopters and wheeled vehicles, the women and men of the Army, coordinated by the Civil Protection, are recovering numerous citizens who have been isolated in their homes and cars due to mud and water. In particular, during the night the helicopters rescued five people who were stranded in the house. Units are also available, for immediate use in case of need, for any work to restore the road network and remove debris.

The specialized structures intervened in favor of the population come from the railway engineers regiment of Bologna, from the 8th engineer sappers regiment of Legnago, from the lagoon regiment "Serenissima",​ from the 7th "Vega" Army Aviation regiment and from the 66 ° Airmobile Infantry Regiment "Trieste", 87th command and tactical support department "Friuli".​
