This morning the Blue Berets celebrated the 74th anniversary of the constitution of theArmy aviation (AVES).
The day began with the laying of a wreath at the monument to the fallen of the Army Aviation, by the commander, division general Salvatore Annigliato and the president of theNational Aviation Association of the Army (ANAE), General Sergio Buono.
The ceremony was attended by the deputy commander of the Terrestrial Operations and commander of the Operational Area, Army Corps General Salvatore Cuoci, the local civil, military and religious authorities, the representatives of the ANAE and the families of the fallen.
General Cuoci, greeting the guests and the soldiers deployed: “Every day the women and men of the Army Air Force face the sky with courage and determination, completing missions of great operational and human value. You are an example of professionalism and dedication to serving the Nation.”
In 74 years of history, wherever AVES has been employed, it has traced an evolutionary path based on a single common thread: the passion for its work.
A concept emphasized by the words of the commander of AVES who in his speech, thanking all the men and women of the specialty, underlined: “The constant commitment of the blue berets at home and abroad is a determining factor in promoting peace, security and international cooperation. The success of the specialty is thanks to you, each of you represents the beating heart of the Army Aviation. We are ready to take on future challenges with the same spirit that has distinguished us since our first flight”.
The ceremony concluded with a demonstration of the operational capabilities of the specialty and a static display of the main fixed-wing and remotely piloted aircraft in service with the Armed Forces.
THEArmy aviation was born with the aim of allowing the Armed Forces to conceive, organize and conduct land operations in the third dimension. It is a unique, modern and cutting-edge reality that has always lived and operated in technologically advanced, multi-weapon, inter-force and international contexts.
