The Army at West Point Sandhurst

The international military competition called Sandhurst Military Competition 2025 at the United States Military Academy (USMA) in West Point – New York - USA, attended by a representative of officers attending the 202nd "Honor" course and the 203rd "Loyalty" course. Army Officers School of Turin.​​​​​

La Sandhurst Military Competition It took place in the West Point military complex on a total route of about 40 km, open to cadets and officer students of the Military Academies and training institutes of the US allied countries, and saw the participation of 48 teams from 16 nations: Canada, Chile, South Korea, Philippines, France, Kosovo, Germany, Japan, Italy, Lithuania, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, United Kingdom, Thailand and United States.​​​​​

The competition took place over a period of 36 continuous hours, during which each team was subjected to evaluation exercises: functional fitness and resistance courses, assembly and disassembly of weapons under stress, shooting with portable weapons, night navigation, first aid and exfiltration of the wounded, CBRN activation, throwing hand grenades, use of NATO messaging and use of radio equipment in critical conditions, crossing a watercourse with a dinghy.​​​​​

Participation in the competition required high training standards, rigorous physical and mental challenges, the teams were evaluated on their ability to operate in critical conditions and in teams, on their leadership skills, orientation and topographic navigation during the day and at night.​​​​​

The Italian team, selected and trained by the course department with the support of the 185th RAO of Livorno, the SETAF command and the 173rd brigade of the US Army of Vicenza, stood out among the international teams.​​​​​
