On the occasion of the "Music Festival", a traditional popular event held on June 21 of each year and celebrating the summer solstice spontaneously gathering in all the squares of Europe professional musicians and simple enthusiasts playing live music, even the Army military bands performed in the most important Italian cities.
As usual, the musical ensembles from the "Aosta", Banda and Fanfara brigade were the protagonists in Sicily at the 26th edition of the "Music Festival".

Designed in France in 1982, the Music Festival he invited all musicians, professionals and amateurs to play on the city streets. Subsequently, the event developed outside the French borders and since 1994 has taken on a European connotation. In fact, the 2020 edition includes 296 participating cities of the old continent with 3972 registered artists. For this, the event has obtained the patronage of the European Commission and in Italy of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage.

In Messina, one of the Italian cities that joined the festival, the band of the "Aosta" brigade performed from the square in front of the Vittorio Emanuele theater with the live broadcast on the local television stations of the concert, to allow everyone to be able to attend the show, avoiding gatherings that could invalidate social distancing measures to stem the pandemic from Covid-19.

The musical band of the "Aosta" brigade, a musical ensemble of 30 military instrumentalists, has performed a vast repertoire ranging from military marches, which have outlined the history of Italy, to classical music scores and transcriptions for light music band .

A particularity of this year was the performance of the Fanfare of the 6th bersaglieri regiment of the "Aosta" brigade which, on a deferred basis, wanted to give the kermesse the representation of the most popular music of the Bersaglieri tradition, always loved by crowds, recorded in the suggestive historical centers of Trapani, Erice and in the enchanting salt marshes of Marsala.

The military bands of the Army perform with high frequency in numerous events of great resonance, enjoying an extraordinary success everywhere and creating, every time, moments of aggregation aimed at sharing and strengthening the common sense of belonging.
