An intense training phase led by the Novara Lancers regiment (5th) of the 132nd “Ariete” armored brigade, engaged in preparing its squadron group for use in international operations abroad, was concluded.

The activities, carried out in strict compliance with the measures to prevent and contain the contagion from COVID-19, were developed in the conduct of an exercise in the environment warfighting at the Comina training area and a fire exercise in the Cellina-Meduna area, where the main combat platforms (Armored "Centauro" armored armored vehicle and "Lince" Light Multirole Tactical Vehicle) were used in tactical reconnaissance activities , defense of positions and security and protection.

All the exercise phases were contextualized within a “real” scenario, which made it possible to make the most of the tactical grips offered by the ground for protection, cover and execution of the shot.

The regimental assets included in the package of forces in operational readiness for NATO's JRRF (Joint Rapid Reaction Force) need also took part in the training, which were able to develop the planning and conduct of an activity aimed at preparing of a sector of counter-tank deployment, refining the operating procedures in a combined arms key with assets of the 10th Engineer Regiment of Cremona.

The commander of the 132nd "Ariete" armored brigade, Brigadier General Roberto Banci, at the end of the activities expressed his appreciation for the good training result achieved, underlining the importance of these exercises for the maintenance and strengthening of the operational capabilities of the units that are called upon to face increasingly complex use scenarios.
