In fact, having ascertained the usefulness that the sanitation of large areas of the territory represents in view of the transition to "Phase 2", many municipal administrations have asked for this type of intervention by the Army. It was therefore necessary to expand the staff base which, already individually trained to operate at various levels in biologically and chemically contaminated environments, updated the procedures for using the large-capacity remediation apparatus. There Julia, in fact, it was called to intervene, with its departments for the sanitation of particularly sensitive areas of the territory to contain the spread of the virus, operating first in Remanzacco (UD) and Cividale del Friuli (UD) and then in Conegliano (TV ) and Tolmezzo (UD), also coordinating the numerous structures that became necessary for the considerable extension of the areas to be treated, in fact, in support of the mountaineers of the 3rd mountain, the structures of the 8th Alpine regiment of Venzone were also joined ( UD) which have made it possible, thanks to their excellent abilities, to perform interventions faster and more effectively.
