The Italian way of peacekeeping: the secret of dialogue with the populations

The engagement, a negotiation activity carried out in an operational context in modern geopolitical scenarios, will be the subject of the seminar to be held today and tomorrow in Pesaro.

The seminar, which is part of a bilateral agreement between Italy and Germany, will be attended by numerous representatives of friendly and allied countries that have recognized the leadership in the field of engagement with the 28 ° "Pavia" regiment.

This recognition is the result of the consolidated skills acquired by the regiment's staff in the sector following the participation in all military operations abroad which, from 2004 to today, saw the Italian armed forces involved and in which the validity of the Italian approach to peace-keeping.

At the seminar, both civilian and military speakers from different countries (United States, Great Britain, Canada, Germany, France, Holland, Sweden, Hungary, Lithuania, Estonia) will participate.

The speakers, in particular, are represented by military and academics in possession of a solid background in the sector of engagement, built also during a multi-year experience in the field.

A topic of particular interest during the work will be the exploration of the potential of "virtual engagement", tending to highlight the possibilities offered by the new media as platforms of engagement that are complementary to the traditional face-to-face approach.

During the seminar the "Pavia" 28 regiment will present the first edition of the "Engagement handbook" as a collection of doctrinal elements and guidelines for an effective conduct of the activity.

The interest in the topics in question, confirmed by the numerous adhesions to the seminar, highlights once again how the 28 ° "Pavia" regiment, which because of its peculiarities is part of the basin of forces for special operations, represents a point of reference in the field of "operational communications" both nationally and internationally.
