The "Folgore" in Poland

The patrol of the "Savoia Cavalleria" (3rd) regiment returned from Poland and took part from 10 to 14 September in the 2019 edition of the military competition called "Zdrzalka".

The international competition, named after the gen., Took place at the headquarters of the 6 ^ brigade paratroopers of the Polish Army in Krakow. b. Marian Zdrzalka, is a tradition of Polish aviation units to which representatives of various NATO nations and numerous Polish units, including the Military Academy, participate each year.

The 2019 edition saw "Savoia Cavalleria", representing the "Folgore" brigade, confronting Czech, Canadian and Dutch paratroop units. The competition was based on 3 complex tests, conceived and structured to highlight the physical and technical characteristics that the minor paratrooper units must necessarily possess.

The first trial saw the parachute riders try their hand at the CASA c-295 aircraft on the Biesko Biala Drop Zone, re-arranging in time and then an orienteering march, covering a distance of 10 km on varied terrain.

The second trial involved the use of individual weapons supplied to the Polish paratroopers and the overcoming of a regulatory obstacle course with some additional difficulties: the five members of the team had to face the obstacles, linked to each other on the right ankle, transporting some equipment.

La Commando race on the distance of 11 km, with about 30 obstacles, both natural and artificial, it represented the third and final proof of the international competition.

The final classification saw the "Savoia Cavalleria" team take second place among the international patrols and reach ninth place in the general classification.
