It continues in the Capo Teulada polygon in Sardinia, the full immersion training of the “Acqui” division in warfighting, with the deployment of the command post with the support of the 57th command and tactical support unit "Abruzzi" and the 232nd transmission regiment.
THEAcqui is testing its ability to plan and conduct high-intensity operations by adopting a streamlined and dynamic command post configuration, which includes a “MAIN” component as a “planning centre” and an advanced “FORWARD” for the management of current operations structured on two CuOPS, respectively through the use of variable geometry shelters and VCC M577 platforms, capable of alternately redeploying themselves on the battlefield in short times.
The activity is carried out in line with the experience gained with the “Kangaroo 24” exercise and in line with the operational planning and the warfighting scenario used in the “Avenger Triad” training events conducted with ARRC, rapid reaction body British NATO.
In the exercise simulation, the "Acqui" division, under the command of the NATO army corps, coordinated the maneuver of the brigades Garibaldi, Pinerolo e Aosta in the conduct of a Forward Passage Of Line (FPOL) with the allied 12th Polish Infantry Division, as a prelude to the subsequent attack. The adherence of the command and control systems allowed the complete management of the units on the ground through a common operational picture updated in real time.
The intense activities, characterized by many new elements such as the deployment of the MAIN command post in the infrastructure, in line with the principle of “Buildings of Opportunity”, the implementation of a tight Battle Rhythm and the redeployment of the CuOPS in conditions of poor visibility, have allowed the personnel of the “Acqui” division to increase the realism of the training to be increasingly adherent to current employment scenarios.
