Reached the Full Operational Capability in the context of National Projection Screening Capacity (CNPM) with the exercise “Amphex 24”, the cavalry brigade “Pozzuolo del Friuli”, carried out, in the Capo Teulada shooting range, a further training period in a high intensity scenario.
During the amalgamation period, the “Pozzuolo” conducted exercises of minor complexes with multi-weapon fire, advanced reconnaissance, maneuver and movement, direct fire with portable and unit weapons, anti-tank fire with the “spike” system, 120 mm rifled mortar shooting school, use and handling of explosives, area interdiction, check points, observation posts, mobility and counter-mobility and positioning of passive obstacles.
The units employed have created, in fact, different "situational trainings" aimed at maximum realism, both during the day and at night, they have been able to test and refine the processes for planning, issuing orders and conducting tactical activities and, at the same time, the tactical operations center (TOC) brigade tested personnel in their reaction and resistance to prolonged alarm activations at Force Protection, ensuring and constantly exercising the command and control structure.
This important training involved several units of the brigade, including the "Cavallo" artillery regiment, the "Serenissima" lagoon regiment, the "Genova Cavalleria" regiment (4th), the 3rd engineer regiment, the "Pozzuolo del Friuli" logistics regiment, the 11th transmission regiment, RCST "Cavalleggeri di Treviso" (28th), quotas of the "Savoia Cavalleria" regiment (3rd) and of the 28th "Pavia" regiment.
The "Pozzuolo del Friuli" cavalry brigade, a large combat unit under the command North Operating Forces and commanded by Brigadier General Nicola Mandolesi, will continue training activities in Sardinia at the 1st level tactical training centre in Capo Teulada, employing infantry, cavalry and engineering units who will use “live” simulation systems with opposing sides.
