The 82nd "Turin" regiment returns from Bulgaria

The return ceremony from Bulgaria of the 82nd "Turin" infantry regiment, a unit employed by the mechanized brigade, was held in the city of Barletta Pinerolo.

The unit had been singled out for the establishment of Multinational Battle Group Bulgaria, one of the four multinational battalions employed by NATO as part of the "enhanced Vigilance Activity" initiative to strengthen the deterrence mechanism on the eastern flank of Europe.

The ceremony took place in the presence of the highest local political and military authorities, including the mayor of the city of Barletta, Dr. Cosimo Cannito, the prefect of the Barletta-Andria-Trani province, Dr. Rossana Riflesso, and the commander of the Pinerolo mechanized brigade, gen. b. Paul Sandri.

The senior officer, during his address, in greeting the men and women of the department who have returned from the Bulgarian theater of operations, congratulated the Turin infantrymen and all the units outside the brigade for their commitment during their mandate at the helm of the Multinational Battle Group Bulgaria as the 1st Italian contingent.

Also present at the ceremony were the Armed Combat Associations and the delegation of the Association of "Fanti del Torino".
