Invictus Games: Italy wins the first gold medal

The Italian delegation of the Ministry of Defense earns the first medal at the Invictus Games. Army Chief Corporal Domenico Russo won the gold medal in the 100 meter race "visually impaired" at the Invictus Games in London.

The soldier, wounded in training, comes from Vibo Valentia and serves at the aviation training center of the Viterbo army.

The Invictus Games are an international Paralympic military competition, organized by the Royal Foundation of Prince Hanry and the British Ministry of Defense underway in London, where over 14 disabled military athletes from 400 countries will compete until September 14th. in 9 sports disciplines.

The Italian participation was strongly supported by the Ministry of Defense and the Italian delegation is composed of thirteen military personnel: 8 of the Italian army, 2 of the air force and 3 of the carabinieri.
