Intense training period for the "Dimonios" of the "Sassari" Brigade

The 151 infantry regiment of the "Sassari" brigade trains at full speed with the aim of training personnel with high operational readiness and versatility of use, able to operate effectively both in international missions and throughout the national territory.

In this regard, diversified training programs have been started aimed at increasing the professional skills of the volunteers in a fixed period of one year coming from the training regiments, and on the other to identify highly qualified figures to start with the selective processes envisaged by the Army for the training of Close Protection Teams (teams specialized in services of protection and escort to military and civil authorities), expert shooters, selected shooters and military rescuers.

In order to constantly maintain the military's level of training of the unit, particular impetus was given to the performance of day and night topographic patrols, to the creation of observation and alarm posts, to the adoption of survival procedures in case of attacks with the use of chemical, bacteriological, radiogenic and nuclear substances. Specific lessons were dedicated to the improvement of MCM techniques (Military Combat Method, the hand-to-hand combat system used by the Army) and BLSD (Basic Life Support and Defibrillation which include cardiopulmonary resuscitation and a sequence of actions to support an individual's vital functions also through the use of a defibrillator).

Moreover, the regiment's military conducted specific training called Crowd and Riot Control, aimed at crowd control procedures and public order management in urban environments. The aim of the program is to intensify the level of training by trying to make it as close as possible to the operational situations that the regiment could face in the future, through close and constant coordination between the operational component and the command and control component that allows make the most of the professionalism of the instructor staff and at the same time motivate and excite the newly assigned staff.
